'Rang Rasiya' Promo launch: Event photos

April 30, 2008 (Sawf News) - Director Ketan Mehta announced completion of his film Rang Rasiya, and unveiled the first look and trailer of the film at Taj Lands End, Bandra, Mumbai Tuesday night, April 29. The day marked the 160th birth anniversary of renowned painter Raja Ravi Verma.

Rang Rasiya - Colours of Passion, starring Randeep Hooda and Nandana Sen, is based on the life and times of the painter.

The star studded bash included Nandana Sen, Randeep Hooda, Ketan Mehta, Deepa Sahi, Deepti Naval, Milind Soman, Kailash Kher, Ashok Pandit, Tom Alter, Rakshanda Khan, Ferena Wazeir, Abhishek Kapoor, Sarika and Rachana Shah.

Ketan Mehta returned to business three years after his Aamir Khan starrer Mangal Pandey.

The film, produced by Mehta's wife, Deepa Sahi, is based on an eponymous classic Indian novel, written by award winning Marathi novelist Ranjit Desai.

This time Mehta chose to go in for a lesser known cast. Randeep Hooda plays the role of Raja Ravi Verma and Nandana Sen plays as his muse, Sugandha. The film also stars Deepti Naval, Paresh Rawal, Ashish Vidyarthi, Prroshant Narayannan, Rajat Kapoor, Vikram Gokhale, Darshan Jariwala, Sachin Khedekar and Tom Alter. Music is by Sandesh Shandilya (K3G).
