The first quarter of 2008 hasn’t been all that great for the Telugu film industry, which is still waiting for its first super-hit film this year.

However, that may soon change now for four big movies are set to be released in May. On May Day (May 1), Allu Arjun-Sheela starrer Parugu, which has been directed by Bhaskar of Bommarillu fame, is to be released worldwide. A week later, on May 7, NTR’s Kantri, in which he is paired with Hansika Motwani will hit the theatres. The movie has been directed by Meher Ramesh.

Then, there is the much- hyped Prabhas-Trisha film Bujjigaadu Made In Chennai, directed by ace director Poori Jagannath.

The movie will be hitting screens on May 16. At the fag end of May, Balakrishna’s period film Pandurangadu, directed by veteran K Raghavendra Rao, will be released. Tollywood is hoping that the four big-budget films on which nearly Rs 120 crore is riding will bring some cheer to the industry.
