Kajol as the brand ambassador of Loomba Trust
Bollywood actress and Ajay Devgan’s wife Kajol Devgan has been appointed goodwill ambassador and patron of the UK based Loomba Trust, a charity devoted to educating widow’s children, particularly in India.
Cherie Blair, President of Loomba Trust and wife of former British prime minister Tony Blair presented Kajol with a plaque at Whitehall during a ceremony to celebrate UN International Day of Non-violence commencing on Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday and festival of Diwali on Thursday evening. The function was graced by India’s High Commissioner to the UK Shiv Shankar Mukherjee, Mayor of London Boris Johnson, former Mayor Ken Livingstone, Lord Navnit Dholakia - Deputy leader of the Liberal Democrats in the House of Lords among others.
Cherie Blair said the trust would extend its activities to Sri Lanka, Nepal, South Africa and Luanda. It has already helped educate 3,500 children of widows in India.
Kajol was thrilled at the honour and said, “I will do my very best to be worthy of this appointment.”
Raj Loomba, who founded the trust in the memory of his late mother expressed his confidence in the actress saying, “I hope Kajol will bring wealth of support and much needed wealth to our charity.”
Rani Mukherjee to woo Shahid Kapoor on-screen
If you thought that bong beauty Rani Mukherjee had said goodbye to Bollywood, you are in the dark. Yes, her fairy tale makeover in ‘Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic’ failed to do the trick for her, the actress is not the one to quit.
Following Bipasha Basu, this time Rani Mukherjee will be seen wooing younger Shahid Kapoor in the coming year in not one but two flicks. And if reports are to be believed, then the duo will be seen doing several ‘roll in the hay’ scenes in two flicks. The first one is being produced by Rani’s favorite banner ‘Yash Raj’ with beau Aditya Chopra directed by debutante director Anurag Singh.
The other one will be directed by Priyadarshan, it will be a social-drama; and have his trademark wacky comedy. The film is said to be a thriller with loads of twists and turns. It is very different from anything that Priyan has done before. Shahid’s character will have shades of grey. He double crosses everyone including his lady love in the film. The shooting of the film is said to start by early next year.
Priyadarshan, however, denies everything about the flick. He simply says, “I am not aware of this.”

Tabu gets gorgeous on the cover of ‘M’
There is no questioning about it. Tabassum Fatima Hashmi ot Tabu is undoubtedly one of the most gorgeous and most talented lady in our Bollywood. Mona Singh signed for ‘3 Idiots’
Mona Singh (Jassi fame) is all smiles these days and why not? The girl is not only getting rave reviews about her performance with Harbhajan Singh on ‘Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena’ but has also got her big break with Raj Kumar Hirani signing her for a pivotal role in ‘3 Idiots’. Apparently, she has a track totally separate from the Aamir-Kareena one and also not featured in Chetan Bhagat’s novel.
Mona confirmed the news saying, “Ya, I am doing Raj Kumar Hirani’s film. And I couldn’t have hoped for a better birthday gift. What do I play? All I can tell you is, I don’t play one of the idiots. I play the sayaani (wise) character, ha ha.”
Talking about her long wait to get a role on the bigger screen, Mona says, “A couple of projects that were meant to happen never did. But I’m glad Raju Hirani signed me. It’s a fabulous role.”
The Singh girl is all bowled over by Harbhajan Singh and says, “In fact Bhajji was one of the first to wish me on my birthday. We’ve become very close buddies. I think it’s the Punjabi connection. He has a reputation for being hotheaded. I’ve quite a temper myself. So we’re fine with one another.” Mona has been guiding Bhajji with his dance steps. “I’ve almost become his choreographer. He completely depends on me to see me through.”
Karisma Kapoor launches ‘Hello’ magazine
Karisma Kapoor is back again to let you know that she still has a lot of charisma left in her. After appearing on the covers of ‘Verve’ she is now the cover girl for celebrity news weekly magazine “Hello” and she is looking simply stunning in a wow white top on the coveted cover. The magazine features India’s ten top most stylish people and lolo is glad to say, she is one of them.
While attending the launch of Hello magazine’s October issue in Mumbai, Kapoor said that she would only make a comeback in Bollywood when she gets a perfect script. As for us, looking at the elegance and charisma she exudes in whatever she does, we are sure that the right script for her is not too far!!

Whos no 1? AB, Rekha... and Ash!
He also says that there’s a numerological reason behind a similarity between AB and son Abhishek’s
career paths – they both had a string of flops in store for them before they got the rewards of their work.
“Number 8, Saturn (Shani), also governs all Librans (Amitabh is a Libran), and it usually entails trials and then rewards. Big B had to endure 11 flops at the beginning of his career; son Abhishek is also governed by Saturn as all Aquarians are, and also had to pass through similar tests, what with his first 13 films being flops!” says Jumaani.
Amitabh Bachchan is governed by the romantic Moon (No 2) and creative Neptune (No 7),” says numerologist Sanjay B Jumaani, and the association with the Moon makes him such a hit in romantic films. “Some of the greatest romantic actors such as Dilip Kumar (December 11), Rajesh Khanna (December 29), Shah Rukh Khan (November 2), Sanjay Dutt (July 29), Naseeruddin Shah (July 20) and Ajay Devgan (April 2) have done well with the gifts of imagination and romantic qualities that Moon endows,” says Jumaani.
AB and Abhishek are both governed by Saturn, and “while the senior Bachchan is wearing a blue sapphire (neelam) to appease Saturn (it did revitalise his career, from being down and out with ABCL losses, giving him Mohabbatein & KBC), AB junior is sporting an amethyst, a substitute to a blue sapphire,” says Jumaani.
But all’s not gung-ho, he warns. “Big B is going to enter his 67th year, and 67 adds up to 4, Uranus, or Rahu... 4 doesn’t gel with 8 of Saturn, and I hope I’m wrong, but the Big B better watch out with regard to his health, especially the stomach. He would do well to watch his diet; strain or anxiety too leads to digestive problems. Yoga, meditation and periodic relaxation could help. Uranus also causes disputes, so the Big B should also avoid getting into litigation,” cautions Jumaani.
