Katrina Kaif has reportedly been signed to play Madhubala in a Kishore Kumar biopic being helmed by Anurag Basu.
Ranbir Kapoor will play the talented but temperamental singer and actor.
UTV is producing the film having purchased the rights for it from Kishore's surviving wife Leena Chandavarkar.
According to Mid Day, Katrina has been studying Madhubala in preparation for the role, watching her films such as Mughal e Azam, Chalti Ka Naam Gadi and Mahal.
The biopic is expected to feature the nostalgic song sequence Ek Ladki Bheegi Bhaagi Si performed by Kishore and Madhubala in the film Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi.
