Katrina in Yet Another Yash Raj Flick

There’s no stopping Katrina Kaif nowadays. The London born ‘bony lass’ has been enjoying a rollicking Bollywood ride for the past four years now, and it looks like she is going to have it her way for some more years to come. She’s been bagging some juicy offers of late, and it seems like she is now Yash Raj Films’ most sought after lead lady.

Katrina’s first film under this prestigious production house was New York with John Abraham and Neil Nitin Mukesh which fared well at the B.O and then it was this year’s Mere Brother ki Dulhan which is having a rather good time as far as the collections have to go by. Then, there is Ek Tha Tiger in the making follwed by Yash Chopra’s directorial with Shahrukh Khan which is going to hit the floors sometime in 2012.

If all this was not enough, Katrina has now bagged a role in the upcoming sequel of the prestigious Dhoom franchise, and will be paired opposite Aamir Khan who is going to play the bad guy after John Abraham’s and Hrithik’s stint in the previous two films.

Looks like there’s no stopping Kats!

Katrina kaif Confession to media

The glamour and acclaim aside, all that gorgeous Katrina Kaif wants is time with family and friends, and, of course, to find that one perfect man. When Masala! got chatting with Kat, here's what we asked:

A lot of people are comparing Sheila Ki Jawani to Munni Badnaam Hui – what is one thing that Sheila has that Munni doesn’t, and vice versa?
I have no idea and it’s not really my job to compare and analyse the differences and similarities between the songs. Malaika has done a fabulous job and Dabangg was a great movie. I, on the other hand, have done the best I could in Sheila Ki Jawani. As long as people love them both, I am happy.

Do you feel the media is unfair to you?
Not at all. The media has played a huge role in the recognition I get and has helped me become the person I am today. I attribute my fan base and other accolades like ‘the most searched person on Google’ to the media. If they speculate and print what they do, it is because it is their job! It’s been done to everyone, right from Marilyn Monroe to others… so why blame them really?

Why did you choose 2012 for marriage...
One morning, I just said, “Who knows?” It could happen in two weeks if I meet the right person. If I am not married in five years, I will be very sad. Everyone wants a companion in life – I have worked very hard from a young age and find that the harder I work, the more I crave that stable home, with a partner. Unfortunately, my family lives outside India and I miss them … well, all I can do is hope that marriage, love and happiness comes to me at the right time, in the form of the right man.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan rejects offer to Judge X factor.

HOLLYWOOD - Simon Cowell, the CEO of 19th Hole Productions, has just learned that Indian actress Aishwarya Rai has refused his offer of being one of the judges on his new X-Factor Show.

Cowell who was the mastermind behind the extremely popular singing reality show American Idol as well as about 48 other Idol shows throughout the world, confessed that he was quite disappointed.

He commented that Aishwarya would have made a perfect fit as the third judge with himself and the beautiful English singer Cheryl Cole. Cowell smiled and said that it would have been a novel showcase with two exquisitely dressed gorgeous women and one T-shirted English bloke.

When Ms. Rai was contacted by a reporter for The Tinsel Town Times Tribune and asked why she had turned down Mr. Cowell's very generous offer she simply smiled and said that it was a very personal matter.

[EDITOR'S NOTE: I placed a call to the man who knows everything about everybody, my good old retired friend Larry King. He informed me that Cowell had offered Ms. Rai $4.7 million (£3 million U.K.) which is the exact amount that he will be paying Cheryl Cole. King disclosed that Rai's husband Abhishek "The Camel Dude" Bachchan simply did not want his wife going to America for fear that she would get swept off her feet by some Hollywood leading man.]

There is no doubt that Aishwarya, who is one of the world's most beautiful women would no doubt attract men like a late evening Wyoming campfire attracts moths.

In fact, Rai, who was crowded Miss World in 1994, is in The Guinness Book of World Records for having received more marriage proposals than any other woman in the history of civilized marriage. The total entered into the book is 19,983.

So as of now, Simon Cowell, aka "The Sultan of Sarcasm" is still searching for a third individual to sit at the judges table with Cheryl Cole, the girlfriend of the winner of this years Dancing With The Stars, Derek Hough and himself.

Katrina Kaif in Prakash Jha's Satsang

Katrina gets set to play a woman robed in ochre and in search of spirituality in the Prakash Jha film.

After opting out of Prakash Jha's Aarakshan, Katrina Kaif plays the central character in Satsang, the director's upcoming film exposing the multi-billion global religion factory in India.

After a critically acclaimed performance in Raajneeti, Katrina seems dead serious about getting into serious non-glamorous roles.

However, her role in Satsang is so complex that even Jha was not sure, initially, if the actress could deliver.

"It would be the most challenging part of my career so far," says Katrina, who played a pivotal character in the director's Raajneeti. In Satsang, she doesn't just play the central character, but also a semi-autobiographical character. The character of a woman from the West in search of Oriental spiritualism is modelled on a real-life character.

This will be a startling departure from her glamorous image .The decision to do Satsang came after much brainstorming between the actress
and director.

Even before Raajneeti, Jha was sure that Kat was perfect for the part in Satsang in terms of physical appearance.

He realised she could deliver the strength required by the central character in Satsang while shooting for the political thriller.

In Satsang, Kat will don ochre robes and will appear without makeup. She would also have to get informed on the intricacies of the multi-billion religious industry in India."

Katrina's up to the task. She says, confidently, "Prakashji and I have discussed the part in detail. This is one film that I've do the most preparation for. I'm open to the challenge."

Katrina kaif at 56th Filmfare awards Press conference

Katrina Kaif poses for a picture during a press conference in New Delhi on December 21, 2010. Kaif is in the Indian capital for the announcement of the forthcoming 56 Idea Filmfare Awards 2010.

She is undoubtedly Bollywood's reigning beauty but Katrina Kaif has still not won a Filmfare award and is "dying" to get her hands on the 'black lady'.

"I haven't won a Filmfare award till now and I am dying to win one. But I can never be a judge for myself whether I should get a Filmfare award as it for the audience to decide," said Kaif who was in town to announce the 56th Idea Filmfare awards.

The actress who is tipped to be in the race for a Filmfare trophy this year for her performance in the hit political drama Rajneeti, said that she is excited about the new wave of cinema in Bollywood.

"Look at the type of films being made nowadays. Its really commendable. Films like No One Killed Jessica is a classic example of this. I am amazed everyone is so excited about it including me," she said.

Shahid Priyanka Romance At Spa

Guess all is well between the two lovebirds, Priyanka Chopra and Shahid kapoor. It is heard that the busy bee PC took some time out for a spa session with Shahid Kapoor. She joined him in Chandigarh where he is shooting for his father’s film Mausam.

The duo then slipped away to a luxurious spa situated on the Shivalik Hills, near Chandigarh, and spent some quality weekend time together. Must say, a wonderful way to rejuvenate and rekindle old flames.

Just a few days ago, Shahid tweeted, “Favere favere if manhoof (manhoos) fog ne parefan kar diya hai …. Morning all ..kal ganna chabaya tha .. Aaj gana gana hai ..”

Hope the couple continue to remain like this forever…

Sonakshi Sinha Raises Fee to Rs 1 crore

Looks like Dabangg has worked wonders for Sonakshi Sinha. The one film old actress has raised her fee to Rs 1 crore, thus joining the league of highest paid actresses like Aishwarya Rai, Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor.

We hear that for one of her upcoming projects, the actress has already taken an advance payment of Rs 91 lakh . A trade analyst is quoted as saying by a daily, “Since Sonakshi has kept herself exclusive only to big hero projects, the girl’s market price is being negotiated very carefully.”

No other newbie has ever hiked her/his fee so astronomically as Sonakshi has, even considering the likes of Deepika Padukone, Sonam Kapoor, or Kangana Ranaut. Industrywallahs are finding it hard to digest this fact, as Sonakshi is just one-movie old.

Sonakshi is rocking this season…

Katrina kaif Queen of Web World

The Barbie belle Katrina Kaif has been named the undisputed ‘Newsmaker of the Year’ for 2010 by Yahoo India. Yahoo! India announced its 2010 Year in Review, the annual Yahoo! look back that identifies the top trends of the year from millions of consumer searches and the top stories and topics of the year from the Yahoo! network.

The janta was more interested in Kat’s life, her beauty, her relationship with Bollywood’s Dabangg star Salman Khan and now her sizzling item Sheila Ki Jawani. There are many factors, both professional and personal, that made Katrina Kaif the ‘Newsmaker of the Year’, said Yahoo. Her critically acclaimed performance in the film Rajneeti, existing cheek by jowl with a mystery stomach ailment that had the nation on tenterhooks, her breakup with long time beau Salman Khan and also her more recent, still ‘alleged’ romance with the latest Kapoor scion Ranbir, all added to her news value.

Well no wonder Katrina does make news..
